Hi reader! We’re Ethan and Ida, the couple behind fitnessgrit.com. It’s said the couple that blogs together, stays together, and we are putting that to the test! Here we’ll be sharing information on health and fitness, along with reviews of some of our favorite things we use to stay in shape. We have two little ones, so we know how tough it can be to make time for your health. We’ll give you exactly the information you need, and not waste any of your time in the process.
We each bring a unique perspective to the site, and hope you enjoy what we share! Ethan was an athlete through high school. He went on to get his business degree, and even while hitting the books still made time to stay active, playing club soccer and various other intermural sports. He comes from a family with health issues like diabetes and hypertension, mostly due to weight issues. Because of that, he really understands the importance of health and fitness as a lifestyle. He makes time to be in the gym at least three times a week. Ethan lives by the old adage of “you are what you eat,” and keeps his diet clean, focusing on proteins and vegetables, while keeping fats and carbohydrates low. While he doesn’t mind cardio, you’ll find his area of true expertise is in the weight room. He feels that a strong mind and a strong body go hand in hand.
I, Ida, while never a formal team athlete, has loved being active outdoors my entire life. In my youth, my family would take vacations to National Parks where I would learn to love exploring nature, and all of its beauty. I try to instil that love for the outdoors within my kids, taking many of those same trips and exposing them to all they have to offer. I try and keep my diet as clean as I can, but being a mom on the go it can be tough! I enjoy home-based workouts and cardio exercises. I love jogging in the evening or early morning before my little ones wake up. Although I am unable to join marathon events frequently now, I try to run half marathons at least once or twice a year.
Together we’ll bring you the no-nonsense information you can use about staying healthy in a busy, frantic world. From fitness related product reviews, to workout tips, we have you covered!
